Alexandra Afryea is a multi-talented international actress, voice actress, and producer known for her work in Film, Television and Theatre.
Propelling her career to the next level she has racked up roles in Hollywood feature films alongside notable actors, including Mark Wahlberg, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Rupert Friend in Antoine Fuqua's upcoming movie “Infinite” (2021); Ryan Reynolds, Corey Hawkings and Adria Arjona in Michael Bay’s “6 Underground” (2019); and English acting royalty Emilia Fox and Rafe Spall in “Mum’s List” (2016).
Making her mark on the small screen, Afryea's appearances include working opposite Sheridan Smith and Alison Steadman in the BAFTA-nominated “Care”, written by acclaimed writer Jimmy McGovern; BAFTA Award-winning actor, Ben Miller in “Primeval”; as well as the docu-drama, "Celebrity Crime Files" narrated by US rapper Ice-T. Afryea has made numerous guest and co-star appearances in top British continuing dramas; “Doctors”, "Emmerdale“ and "Coronation Street”.
Since 2009, Afryea has assumed notable stage credits including several of William Shakespeare's heroines, alongside actors such as Mark Pellegrino and John Hillard. Giving one of her best performances yet, in the 2019 acclaimed production of “Macbeth”, Afryea’s astounding portrayal of the infamous Lady Macbeth was embellished with rave reviews and accolades.
Born in Nottingham, England, Afryea had a lifelong passion to be an actress. After school she commenced her performance training at Nottingham College Clarendon receiving theatrical tutelage under the late Marielaine Church, mother to revered Theatre Director, Jonathan Church. Afryea made her on-stage debut as Estragon in Samuel Beckett's, “Waiting for Godot”. Afryea then went on to achieve a Bachelor of the Arts degree (with Honors) from the prestigious Brunel University London, majoring in Drama, Film and Television. Soon after she enrolled in the two-year training course in the Stanislavsky Technique at The Poor School, London.
Furthering her skills and talents, she completed ongoing advanced training in the Meisner Technique studying under several protégés of Sanford Meisner himself. At the Actors Temple, London with Tom Radcliffe and visiting practitioner Martin Barter, from The Meisner Center, and at the renowned Playhouse West, Los Angeles with Tracy Pellegrino. As an exemplary student, Afryea’s dedication and passion for acting led her to win a role in a production of Shakespeare's “Twelfth Night” directed by Tracy Pellegrino. Gravitating towards an illustrious acting career and nothing short of inspirational, Afryea continues to spread her love and joy for storytelling by coaching upcoming actors at The Actors Temple, London and online via WeAudition.
